About Mia Volo Books
Mia Volo Books began when a grandmother started writing for her young grandson. She wanted him to experience history through engaging stories, much as she had learned from the classic children’s books she loved as a child.
That idea became Kavi’s Stone Age Adventures. By following one family through everyday challenges, children learn how people solved problems and gradually changed the way humans lived. History becomes an adventure they can understand and remember, rather than a collection of disconnected facts.
Younger grandchildren later inspired Maya’s Little Forest—warm animal adventures that explore friendship and courage while introducing little readers to nature and the changing seasons.
Today, Mia Volo Books brings together three generations of one family, all helping to share these stories so more children can enjoy the same experience: entering an imaginative world, learning as they read, and discovering that books can make history and nature come alive.
Our mission
To create engaging, substantial books about nature and history for curious young children — books families can enjoy together and homeschoolers can use to explore and learn.
